My book blog now has its own home. Please visit me at LYNNE'S BOOK REVIEWS. Of course you're more than welcome to see what's going on in my personal life, but if you want to talk books, that's where I'll be!

A Major Celebration

My brother Ryan graduated!

He is now a radiologic technologist, which is different than a technician (in case you didn't know) in that a technologist is able to perform CT scans, MRIs, fluoroscopies, and venograms. They also may specialize in cardiology procedures or ultrasonography.

Each of the 18 students filmed a thank you video that was shown during the graduation.

As well as a little dance; these were hilarious

Each student made a board of the hospital where they trained to display at the ceremony. Ryan trained at Marina Del Rey Hospital.

After the ceremony we headed to Gary's, where my mom hosted the most amazing party!

Ryan gave a toast thanking his family and friends for all their support over the last few years. It's been a long road for him. We're so proud.

Toward the end of the night, Gary played the piano and the tequila everyone started singing.

HOLD ME CLOSER TINY DANCER!

What Makes Your Big Head So HARD!?

(It's not a party if Gary doesn't play this)

The next day we did nothing but eat cake

Take naps

Enjoy Gary's beautiful view

And get cozy with our friend "Ray"

CONGRATS, RY. YOU DID IT!

Oh, and I did get off the couch long enough to see my niece Maysie score two goals in her soccer game. She's an excellent athlete, and I love watching her and my nephew Mark play whatever sport is in season while I'm there.

I may have spent all day at the beach one day, too.

With my mom

And Gary

And Krista too. We had a fun family day at the beach while Ryan stayed home and studied for his boards, which he has to pass before he starts his job at Marina Hospital.  He's the only one of 18 students in his program who was offered a job after graduation.

It was a short trip for me, but I wouldn't have missed Ryan's monumental moment for anything!
