What Are You Reading? / Brentwood Football Pictures

It's Monday, so what are you reading? Join in on the fun over at J. Kaye's blog.

Last week I read:

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo ( rated 4/5)
A Year by the Sea (rated 4/5)
Girl Meets God (rated 3.5/5)

My reviews of these books are on the left sidebar.

Gave up on:

Olive Kitteridge (rated it 1/5. I read 114 pages (!) and just couldn't go on. What a depressing, negative, unlikable character.)

Currently reading:

Homer's Odyssey - about a blind cat. I just started but I'm sure I'm going to love it; it's about animals, so how could I not.

This week:

A Big Little Life: A Memoir of a Joyful Dog - by Dean Koontz

This book is ready to pick up from the library, so I for sure will read that. Otherwise, I plan to read whatever else is on my Fall Into Reading challenge. Maybe The Sun Also Rises, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn or Prince of Tides.

Have a great week of reading, everyone :)

PERSONAL
First a picture of Emma (her indecisive parents changed her name again) on her first Halloween.

Now onto sports...

Brentwood won Districts for the 1st time in I don't know how many years.

Taylor Dee is a captain - #45 on the field (on left)

Go crazy folks!

Amanda Dee is on the far left, cheering for her brother

Amanda

Julie Dee cheering for her son :)

Julie and her mom

Brian and Sam

What a great game. Brentwood won 7-6.

Brentwood goes on to playoffs, with a game this Wednesday.

Oh, and the Rams finally won. (That is not a misprint, they really did.)

Great pics!
I finished Olive K but gave it 2/5 stars. I know it won the big prize but honestly, I just didn't enjoy it all that much. I've found that's not unusual for me and big-prize winning books. But, I know what I like and that's what I tend to read : )
Have a great week.

Somehow I missed Dean Koontz's book. I didn't know that one was out. BTW, love your pics!

Aww, Emma is so cute!

I think I'll avoid the Olive K book, I've had too many lately that I've started and then lost interest in for whatever reason. The book about the blind cat (Homer's Odyssey) sounds really good though!

I have been intrigued with The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. I am going to read your review.

Loved your pictures! Thanks for sharing.

Sorry you didn't like Olive Kitteridge better. It's hard to commit that amount of time to something that just doesn't do anything for you.

Football looks like it was a fun albeit muddy game!

Great football pics. I have lots of pics like those too. I love taking pics of my son's football games. He's in his first year of football (flag not tackle)
I'm new to the game, not really knowing much about the sport I picked up a book that can surely and has helped me. It's titled A Sportscaster's Guide to Watching Football by sportscaster Mark Oristano.

It’s full of great tips for the novice fan to learn how to watch and understand football.

Chrissy, good for you for reading up on football to learn more about it. I should have done that a long time ago; I'm still trying to figure out all the rules!
