My book blog now has its own home. Please visit me at LYNNE'S BOOK REVIEWS. Of course you're more than welcome to see what's going on in my personal life, but if you want to talk books, that's where I'll be!

B-ball Videos

Poor E...he's in bed right now. It's 10:18 AM on a school day and he has just had it. After a day of school and an intense hour-long workout at Hammerbodies, he had a 2 1/2 hour basketball practice, with suicides at the end. I think we'd better make sure he doesn't have both in one day again. That was a bit much. He doesn't miss school very often (since I give him Dayquil when he's sick and send him on his way), so I'm giving him a break today.

Eric, Rashad and Charles in Memphis (don't they look thrilled?)

I took this video of #52 on one of the teams we played because I want to see his birth certificate that says he's 15 (in dog years maybe!)
video

The rest of these videos I did on YouTube because I kept getting booted out of the Internet the other way. For having an HD camcorder, these videos are so grainy. Losiento mucho.

Team huddle (Eric is the tall one in the back)...

The lady you hear in the background? Her son is on our team. She stands up and yells the entire time and actually uses a sweat rag to wipe off her face...that's how wound up she gets.

Eric is #42 and yes he's the tallest on the team.

The Majestics roster... (E is listed as 6'5", but they already need to update it and may have to update that frequently)

See "15's" for teams coming to St. Louis for tournament this weekend. Eric's team is the Majestics.

Okay, enough basketball.

I love this...

If I Didn’t Have a Dog...
I could walk around the yard barefoot in safety.
My house could be carpeted instead of tiled and laminated.
All flat surfaces, clothing, furniture, and cars would be free of hair.
When the doorbell rings, it wouldn't sound like a kennel.
When the doorbell rings, I could get to the door without wading through fuzzy bodies who beat me there.
I could sit on the couch and my bed the way I wanted, without taking into consideration how much space several fur bodies would need to get comfortable.
I would have money .....and no guilt to go on a real vacation.
I would not be on a first-name basis with 6 veterinarians, as I put their yet unborn grand kids through college.
The most used words in my vocabulary would not be: out, sit, down, come, no, stay, and leave him/her/it ALONE.
My house would not be cordoned off into zones with baby gates or barriers.
My house would not look like a day care center, toys everywhere.
My pockets would not contain things like poop bags, treats and an extra leash.
I would no longer have to spell the words B-A-L-L, F-R-I-S-B-E- E, W-A-L-K, T-R-E-A-T, B-I-K-E, G-O, R-I-D-E
I would not have as many leaves INSIDE my house as outside.
I would not look strangely at people who think having ONE dog/cat ties them down too much.
I'd look forward to spring and the rainy season instead of dreading 'mud' season.
I would not have to answer the question 'Why do you have so many animals?' from people who will never have the joy in their lives of knowing they are loved unconditionally by someone as close to an angel as they will ever get.
How Empty My Life Would Be!
