What's new? Eric had a basketball game yesterday. For some reason the other team was an "A" team. Eric's team is a "B" team, so of course they got killed. Eric had 5 points, 5 rebounds and 1 block. One of the parents for the other team told me their team is undefeated. Well of course they are! They are an "A" team playing their entire schedule against "B" teams! Hmmm...dat just ain't right! Oh well, good experience for our players.

Eric and I are going to Florida for spring break with Mary and her kids. There is one catch. If Eric gets a C in any class, we aren't going. This is Larry's rule. He said his kids weren't allowed to get C's and neither is Eric. I'm glad he's so strict about grades. It's good for Eric in the long run. (Why do I get punished if Eric gets a C? Just kidding :)

Breaking news: March 9th is Daylight Savings!!! Woo hoo!! We move our clocks ahead and lose an hour of sleep, but it means it stays lighter longer. Finally, light at the end of this long winter tunnel.

Keep a watch on my reading list down below, and let me know if anyone has any good book recommendations. I'm getting so much reading in because of Eric. On Saturday he had a two hour baseball practice and since we were too far away for me to drive all the way back home, I sat in the car and read the entire time.

My Turn!!

Yeah, I found out today that I finally get to travel somewhere! No, it's not Hawaii and it's not until July, but at least it's something to look forward to. We are going to Italy! Julie will be taking some classes there for a few weeks, so we thought we'd go visit her. Last time I went to Italy was 25 years ago (I wonder if the Tower of Pisa has fallen over yet). Some of you may know that Italy is my most favorite place in the entire world. I haven't exactly SEEN the entire world, but out of quite a few countries I've been to, Italy is my favorite. So I'm excited. I'm almost as excited about that as I am winter being over (it was 12 degrees this morning). What I'm not too excited about is the fact that Eric's babysitter while we're gone is going to be Jason. And that Jason was a little too agreeable to it. "Sure, I'll watch Eric!" Yikes, that's scary. A by-that-time 21-year-old and a soon to be high schooler "batchen" it? I may need to invest in multiple hidden security cameras. Honey, we may need to rethink this situation... Ryan, we've got a job for you!

Dad, here is Thursday's pitching lesson video. Not sure why it says Feb. 1st on it. Makes it look in Photobucket like he changed shirts on Feb. 1st :) He had his first baseball practice yesterday for his select team. He found out that a couple of the kids just got their acceptance letters in the mail and two of them are going to CBC and one to DeSmet. So that's really neat for him. On our way to his basketball game right now. Loved your comments about deciding on schools. I tell him what you wrote. Funny :)

Well, Eric got his acceptance letters. Bad news...he got accepted into both schools! Just kidding about the bad news. Just thought I'd add a little drama. I'm so proud and excited for him. He is going to decide this weekend which one to go to.

We should hear from the schools in 3 or 4 more days as to whether or not Eric has been accepted. Will keep you posted...

My house is almost completely cleaned out and will soon be put on MLS for both rent and sale, and we'll see what happens.

Eric's select baseball team will hold their first practice this Saturday.

Had a fun Superbowl party at our house yesterday. Great game, great food, and great friends! Eric won $50 in the pool and so did his friend Madeline.

E's basketball team won their game 31-27 and he had 6 points, 5 rebounds and a couple of assists.

Julie was home for the Mardi Gras weekend and two of her friends from California flew in as well (that's Julie, Megan and Nicole in the picture)

Okay, so today I find out that my sister and her family are going to Hawaii on Monday and my dad and his wife Trudy left for Hawaii today. Meanwhile, I sit here typing on my computer looking out the window at 6 inches of snow on the ground. What is wrong with this picture? Thank you Lord for heat...and boots...and warm puppies sleeping on our laps.
